A New Ward

Have you ever been part of a ward where everybody is new? Well that is our ward. Our old ward had 700 members and one other ward did to. They took the 3 wards together and made a new one and that is the one we are in. The only callings people had was the Bishop and his couselors. It has been three weeks now with only sacrament meeting being held and now all the the presidencies have been called. I don't envy the primary presidency. They were just called yesterday. Next week is the first Sunday with all three hours. Can you imagine the organization she will have to do. I was a bit leary of joining this new ward but are bishop is so awesome and just having sacrament meeting the spirit is sooooo strong. Its been a awesome thing to experience this. Springville has just been fields but in the last year lots of houses have gone up and you know living in Utah everybody who moves in is mormon not like new hampshire.

Wow that is crazy, it would be hard to be the president, and start everything new. It reminds me of when I was on a mission and opening a new area, it's hard. Sounds like you have a very good bishop, I'm sure it's a bit crazy now, but also will pull the ward members together.
Hey we need to get together and I could help you with the blogging, it can be frustrating, but you just need to play around with it. I still have a lot to learn, and want to do certain things, but do not know how to.

Hey Michelle...So they combined to make over 1400 members, or am I misunderstanding your blog?? Hey, I don't mind my neighbors not being LDS! :) It means I have more work to do but that's ok. No matter what ward you are in NOW you will always be an honorary member of the Laconia ward!!! :) WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

Hello Michelle!

That would be a very hard thing to be called in a presidency where nothing is organized! Erica is right, you will always be a part of the Laconia ward.

Love,
Maria

We just went through that a couple of months ago. It does take a little while to get the ward rolling again. For a while every week in Sacrament Meeting they would have a long list of sustainings to do. I kind of like that all the organizations have a "fresh start".
